Procedural Map Generator


This tool creates a procedural array of cubes of different sizes with some areas left blank. Kit has used it as a base to start creating the whitebox its acting as a large brush stroke for level design. In the future it will be used to create the roofs of the slums in the distance.

Spline Based Asset Placement

 

This blueprint is used in placing repeating assets along a path, the path is drawn using a spline in engine. In it's current form the tool creates a new mesh every point in the spline, which does the job but causes stretching. 

 

I aim to get it so that you can set what asset it uses and then how many of that asset you want to be drawn along the whole spline; following the splines transform instead of working tangent to tangent.

Modular Building System

 

This tool puts together modular building pieces to create finished buildings. You can currently easily change the width, depth and height of the buildings as well as swap between preset modular pieces.

 

I hope to have it so that you can input your own meshes as well as have the ability to easily tweak the location of the modular pieces and additional meshes associated with the building.

Random Asset Location Tool

 

This idea behind this tool is based around the"Tree, Bush, Rock" method commonly used by environment artists when placing objects in a level. It's a quick composition comprising of large medium and small assets in a pyramidal cluster. The tool allows you to input what of each size mesh you wish to use and then randomly locates them within the set boundaries.

 

The next stage for this is to have it so that you can then manually tweak the locations of the assets after they have been placed by the blueprint.
